Terms & Conditions

1. General provisions

1.1. These Terms govern the booking and rental of (i) cars, (ii) yachts/vessels for private charters, and (iii) helicopter tours/charters provided by Lux Rent Dubai (“Company,” “we,” “us”).
1.2. By making a booking, the client (“you”) confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted these Terms.
1.3. All services are subject to the laws of the UAE and the Emirate of Dubai, including regulations of RTA/Salik (toll roads), DMCA (maritime authority), and GCAA (aviation authority).

2. Age and documentation requirements

2.1. Cars:

  • Minimum rental age is 21 years; for some premium categories the minimum is 27 years. Drivers under 25 may only rent specific categories and will be charged a young driver surcharge.

  • A valid passport and driving license (held for at least 1 year) are required. If the license is not in Latin characters, an International Driving Permit is also required.
    2.2. Yachts: The charter contract must be signed by a person aged 21+. All guests must present a passport or Emirates ID if requested by port/DMCA authorities. All charter yachts must hold a DMCA license; crew must be licensed and STCW certified.
    2.3. Helicopters:

  • Passengers must present an original passport or Emirates ID. Arrival at the helipad is required 45 minutes prior to departure for check-in and safety briefing.

  • Minimum passenger age is 2 years (children require their own seat).

  • Weight limit: maximum 115 kg per passenger; passengers over 140 kg cannot be accommodated. Group total weight may not exceed the operator’s aircraft limit (typically 420–450 kg).

3. Booking and payment

3.1. To confirm a booking, a prepayment of [__%] or full payment is required; any remaining balance must be settled no later than [__] prior to the service.
3.2. Security deposit (blocked on credit card):

  • Cars: from [AED __], depending on vehicle class.

  • Yachts: [AED __], if applicable.

  • Helicopters: usually no deposit; 100% prepayment is required.
    3.3. Accepted payment methods: Visa/Mastercard, cash, bank transfer. Bank commissions and currency conversion fees are borne by the client.
    3.4. Booking confirmations and vouchers will be sent electronically.

4. Prices, fees, and taxes

4.1. Prices are quoted in AED and may include VAT [__ %].
4.2. Salik tolls (cars): since 2025, a dynamic tariff applies. On weekdays during peak hours (06:00–10:00 and 16:00–20:00) the toll is 6 AED; off-peak hours (10:00–16:00 and 20:00–01:00) — 4 AED; nighttime (01:00–06:00) is free; Sundays are fixed at 4 AED. All Salik crossings, parking fees, and traffic fines are charged to the client.
4.3. Yachts: additional fees may apply for port charges, fuel beyond included hours, catering, water sports, and crew gratuities [suggested __ %].
4.4. Helicopters: price depends on route, flight duration, and ATC clearances. Changes due to weather or operational requirements are possible (see § 7).

5. Changes and cancellations

5.1. Rescheduling by client (subject to availability):

  • Cars: free up to [48 h] before; later — fee [__%].

  • Yachts: free up to [7 days]; later — fee [__%].

  • Helicopters: free up to 72 h; less than 72 h — fee [__%].
    5.2. Cancellations or changes due to weather, ATC restrictions, or other operational safety reasons (yachts/helicopters) will be rescheduled or refunded without penalty.
    5.3. No-show or late arrival exceeding [__] minutes may result in cancellation without refund.

6. Use of rental cars

6.1. Mileage allowance: [unlimited / __ km per day]; excess km charged at [AED __/km].
6.2. Fuel policy: vehicles must be returned with the same fuel level. Refueling is charged at [__].
6.3. Prohibited uses: racing, drifting, track driving, towing, off-road (unless authorized), modifications, smoking inside, transporting animals without carriers.
6.4. Traffic rules:

  • All toll gates are managed by Salik; tolls are charged electronically.

  • Right turn on red is prohibited unless indicated by signage.

  • Offensive gestures or abusive language may result in fines under public obscenity laws.

  • Use of the RTA Smart Drive app is recommended for navigation.
    6.5. Driving outside the UAE is prohibited without written approval.
    6.6. All fines, parking charges, and tolls (incl. Salik) are billed to the client with an administrative fee.
    6.7. Driving by unauthorized persons is prohibited; only registered drivers are allowed.

7. Car insurance and liability

7.1. Vehicles are covered by mandatory third-party liability insurance. Collision damage excess (franchise) is [AED __]; optional CDW may reduce this amount.
7.2. In case of accident or theft, police must be called immediately and a report obtained; without a report, insurance may be void.
7.3. Exclusions: tires, glass, interior damage, flood, misfuelling, reckless driving, racing, intoxication — costs borne by client.

8. Yacht use rules

8.1. All charter yachts must hold a DMCA license and be equipped with SOLAS life jackets — one per person including children. Crew must provide safety briefing.
8.2. Fire extinguishers and blankets must be onboard; fines may apply if equipment is missing.
8.3. Speed limits: 5–10 knots in no-wake zones (e.g., Palm Jumeirah); max 15 knots in open waters.
8.4. Alcohol: allowed only with DMCA license and for guests 21+; BYOB is limited (2–4 liters per person). Public intoxication is punishable; captain may terminate charter.
8.5. Swimming and water activities allowed only in designated areas, with engines stopped and captain’s permission.
8.6. Littering at sea is prohibited; fines up to AED 5000 may apply.
8.7. Weather or port authority restrictions (fog, storms) may alter routes/timings; bookings can be rescheduled or refunded (see § 5).

9. Yacht insurance and liability

9.1. Vessels are insured for hull and liability. Guests’ personal belongings are not covered; personal travel insurance is recommended.
9.2. Damages caused by guests to vessel/equipment/environment are fully chargeable.
9.3. The captain may terminate the charter without refund in cases of unsafe behavior, intoxication, or serious violations.

10. Helicopter tours and charters

10.1. All flights are operated by licensed providers under GCAA regulations; routes approved by ATC.
10.2. Check-in is required 45 minutes before departure for registration, briefing, and weighing.
10.3. Weight restrictions: max 115 kg per passenger; passengers over 140 kg cannot be accepted. Group weight must remain within operator’s aircraft limit (420–450 kg).
10.4. Children under 2 years are not permitted; from age 2 require their own seat.
10.5. Large bags and bulky items are not allowed; only small personal items permitted.
10.6. Professional photography equipment (selfie sticks, large tripods, lenses >400 mm) is not allowed without written permission.
10.7. Routes and timings may be changed due to weather or ATC decisions; bookings can be rescheduled or refunded without penalty.

11. Behavior, safety, and service refusal

11.1. Clients must follow all safety instructions (life jackets, seatbelts, conduct onboard).
11.2. The Company reserves the right to refuse service or terminate it without refund in cases of aggressive behavior, illegal acts, intoxication, or refusal to follow crew instructions.
11.3. Drivers must comply with UAE etiquette rules; offensive gestures or language are subject to fines.

12. Force majeure

Circumstances beyond reasonable control (weather, fog, storm, ATC or port closures, emergencies, government acts) are considered force majeure. In such cases, bookings may be rescheduled or refunded (§ 5).

13. Limitation of liability

13.1. The Company’s liability per booking is limited to the actual amount paid, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.
13.2. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (loss of profit, third-party costs, etc.).
13.3. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability which cannot be excluded under UAE law.

14. Personal data

We collect and process personal data for booking, contractual performance, and compliance with regulatory requirements (port, DMCA, aviation authorities). Data may be stored on servers in the UAE in line with applicable law.

15. Amendments

We may update these Terms without prior notice. The version in effect at the time of booking confirmation applies unless otherwise agreed in writing.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the UAE and the Emirate of Dubai. Any disputes are subject to the courts of Dubai, unless mandatory legal provisions stipulate otherwise.
